Wow!  It's hard to believe that the summer has gone and that I'm starting my second year here at BLHS.  I will be joined in the media center this year by Mr. Steve McCormick.  Come on in and visit us!

We are starting a new literacy incentive this year across the district, so my hope is that the media center will continue to be abuzz with activity and that more and more students will strenthen their reading muscles!  Parents, please ask your students about our DEER program and the incentives they can receive.

A little about me--
I earned my Master's degree in Library and Information Science from USC in 2008.  Additionally, I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from UNC Charlotte, and I earned my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University.  I have worked as an elementary media specialist in Lexington School District 2 and as a teaching assistant in Richland District 2.  My 2 children attend B-L schools, and my husband works here at BLHS as well.  I LOVE reading and enjoy a wide variety of books and authors.

I hope to inspire students to cultivate their own love of reading and to help them successfully navigate the vast amounts of information and technology at their disposal.  I look forward to working with you all.  Make yourselves at home in the library; it belongs to us all!
